julie's Wildly Creative Bio:

Different by so many standards, my life has been one big provocative lesson in letting go and learning about what matters to me.

When my husband, Gary, died suddenly, 9 years ago, my life changed in the blink of an eye. Suddenly, I was a visitor in what appeared on the surface to be my life, but from my inner view was completely unrecognizable. It was a defining moment in my life.

Over the next few years, my two daughters and I dealt with the loss of this wonderful man. I went back to school, transferring from the community college to Stanford University as a 42 year-old undergraduate student. I studied abroad, and upon my return, my grandson Lucas was born.

Lucas had a congenital heart defect, with major complications, leading to numerous surgeries for the first 2 and 1/2 years of life. This was another opportunity to learn to let go and find clarity around the values which I hold dear, values I must have in my life for it to be of meaning.

It became crystal clear that I wanted to live from my highest self, and no longer from fears of scarcity and not being enough. I believe there is a defining moment in each of our lives when we come home to ourselves, that self that knows our purpose and vision, our creative Essence.

At this point, I made the conscious decision to not pursue a career in software design, the most logical path following my major of Interaction Design (as well as my more than 14 years of experience as a systems analyst). Logic of the head was not the tool I chose to use any more in making life choices. Instead, my current path of creativity consulting and coaching came out of defining my life purpose based on my values and life vision, making choices from my highest self.

Coaching family members directly affected by 9/11 through the Creative Insight course has been one example of this rich and rewarding work. To witness the natural movement of these clients as they come home to their highest self and begin to create lives from purpose and vision, is to work first hand with the divine grace available to each of us in every moment. Through coaching and creativity work, clients transcend the boxes they believe they are in, and instead, move from creative choice and action.

No longer a victim of making choices by simply reacting to circumstances, my life is my creation, one choice at a time.

Wildly Creative Women is part of this vision. Wildly Creative Women is about women coming home to themselves, to their full power and potential.

I welcome you to come home to the voice you have heard, but just weren't ready to follow. This voice is your truth, and you will find, when you also develop a strong mind-body connection, it is your source of female power.
